  For two years, I've been dealing with insomnia. I tried everything - over the counter medications, sleeping medications, etc. to absolutely no avail. After discussing it with my first doctor - who was great! - we concluded that the sleeping medications weren't working because the insomnia was stemming from anxiety. So, I got on an anxiety medication that both calmed me down and helped me sleep. It's been working well for two years now! Fast forward, and the first doctor moved to Jeff City. So I started seeing someone else. My prescription ran out three weeks ago & neither my pharmacy nor me could get through to the doctor to refill it! None of my calls were returned, I couldn't get a real person on the phone, etc. I FINALLY got a call back yesterday only to be told that she wouldn't refill it until I could come in. I work full time, and she didn't have any openings until July. So she expects me to just not sleep for the next month? I've already gone three weeks without sleep. This is DANGEROUS!!!!!! I am sleeping 2-3 hours a day and having to drive to work, etc. I'm so exhausted that I can barely function at work and in life. If this was an epilepsy medication, would you tell your patient to just have seizures until you had an opening for them to come in? She wouldn't let me see a different doctor who had an opening sooner, either. So I had to just quit the medication that has been working for me for TWO YEARS and stop sleeping. I couldn't switch doctors fast enough. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE.
